You might have heard so far about the possibility of treating acne by controlling the foods you eat. And if you have ever read related articles, you should have noticed that vitamins are on top of the list when it comes to healthy food habits. So now we are going to talk about A vitamin, which can really make a difference in this fight against acne, only when properly administrated.
If there are no genetic or hormonal explanations, your acne cause can simply be a skin disorder. This is why you can improve your condition when helping skin to regenerate, with something really useful to it.
You are now probably wondering how vitamin A can help skin. Well, it is very important because it is directly involved in controlling the development of the so – called epithelial cells on the one hand, and it also helps the keratinization process, on the other hand, which leads to the formation of the mature skin layer that specialists name corneum. It might seem like a lot of big words in here, when the idea is simple: without this vitamin, our skin could not properly develop. So consuming foods that contain it in its natural form is very useful for maintaining the skin in a good shape.
For example, you could get your recommended daily allowance of A vitamin while eating liver, peppers, carrots, sweet potatoes, kale, squash, lettuce, papaya and spicy herbs such as oregano.
However, things are a little bit different when the skin is not in such a good shape anymore, because natural A vitamin will not be enough anymore. So it takes derivatives to bring back the balance, derivatives that will be prescribed in high doses, for a severe approach, and which might give you some very unpleasant side effects. Headaches, blurred vision, dizziness, nausea and incapacity of controlling your muscles are some of the most common symptoms registered so far.
Depending on how severe is your acne, the doctor might recommend you to take it as a supplement, meaning that you will be taking high doses, or, on the contrary, could give you something less powerful – the most common derivative, retinoid. But topically or orally administered, it is crucially for you to strictly follow the doctor's indications as you should not joke with using derivates of this vitamin.
The point is that we need it in our bodies for things to be normal, we can use it when an imbalance occurs, and we can get into serious problems when taking too much of it. But the main idea is that it can serve us for both preventing and treating acne.
While we are not able to establish on our own which is the most effective acne treatment , the only thing left would be to do whatever we can to keep our skin healthy through home remedies, and never refusing to consult a specialist when things seem to be out of control.
