5 Common Sense Acne Remedies

The term acne, in totality, does not mean JUST pimples.

There are dozens of "magical" acne remedies but fact remains many prove to be if not dangerous at least stupidly ineffective. Nonetheless there are some shortcuts that can be employed to keep acne under control and perhaps lay the foundation for a full scale recovery.

Maintain the inflicted skin area clean

Even though this is basic not many grasp the importance of it. Acne is largely attributed to bacteria or excess sebum secreted but you're responsible for how long it remains a problem. And keeping the skin clean is the first step in making a change for the better. Use only mild soap for sensitive skin and avoid using washing cloths or any other abrasive scrubs. Wash up gently and be careful not to damage the inflicted skin area.

Skin exfoliation
Is important to consistently remove dead skin cells. If this isn't carried out on a regular basis, these accumulate on the skin surface and in combination with sebum they clog skin pores and sets the stage for acne breakouts. On the other hand, keeping the skin clear turns it into a biased battleground for eradicating acne.

Essential oils
Due to their antiseptic and anti inflammatory properties, natural oils like those extracted from the Australian tea tree, bergamot and rosewood are the efficient at keeping acne under control and decreasing it's spread. However these potent solutions have come with a series of side effects. Before purchasing make sure you fit the profile of those allowed to use them.

Facial Masks
These are great at cleansing the damaged skin and reducing local inflammation. They suck up and prevents excess sebum bursts by shrinking the skin pores. after thirty minutes of keeping the mask the differences in skin smoothness and bright are visible.

Honey
As with essential oils, honey is exploited in treating acne due to its anti inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Where other treatments take a brutal approach to annihilating acne honey brings in a fine balance between therapeutic effects and skincare benefits. For maximum effects, honey should be used in combination with almond oil or cinnamon. The resulting paste should be applied on damaged skin and left overnight. After two weeks of treatment your face will have a healthy glow to it.

These acne remedies are great for ongoing use but they shouldn't replace professional treatments in form of cosmetics products. Such products are the result of clinical studies and come as customized solutions for all types of skins and acne severity.
